Urwerk - UR-10 Spacemeter Blue

There are watches that tell time, and then there are watches that tell you where you are in the universe. The UR-10 SpaceMeter Blue Final Edition belongs firmly in the latter camp — and it marks the definitive conclusion of one of URWERK's most thought-provoking collections.

The UR-10 SpaceMeter doesn't merely indicate hours and minutes. It articulates a vision. As Martin Frei puts it: "Time is not something we observe. It is something we inhabit."

The dial features three astronomical subdials that transform the wrist into a portable cosmography:

  • Earth (2 o'clock): Tracks every 10 km of Earth's daily rotation at the equator, graduated in 500 m increments

  • Sun (4 o'clock): Records every 1,000 km of Earth's solar orbit in 20 km increments

  • Orbit (9 o'clock): A double concentric counter combining both trajectories — 1,000 km of rotation and 64,000 km of solar revolution — on synchronised scales

The concept traces back to a mysterious 19th-century Gustave Sandoz regulator clock discovered and restored by Felix Baumgartner's father, Gérard — a clock that measured planetary distance rather than conventional time. That same clock inspired the earlier UR-100 SpaceTime, and now finds its most refined expression here.

At 45.40 mm wide, 44 mm long, and just 7.13 mm thick (excluding the box sapphire crystals), the UR-10 is URWERK's slimmest and most wearable creation to date . The sandblasted titanium case and integrated titanium bracelet lend it a contemporary, almost dress-sports versatility.

For this Final Edition, the dial receives an ADL-treated blue finish with curved, circular satin finishing — a colour chosen deliberately by Martin Frei: "This final blue edition seemed the most fitting to us, because it naturally places this timepiece in its true setting: space."
