In 2024, Swiss watch brand Louis Erard teamed up with independent watchmaker Vianney Halter to launch the Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Vianney Halter II watch, which quickly sold out.
This September, they are joining forces again to release the latest limited edition model — the Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Vianney Halter II World Tour. This is not just a watch launch but a "World Tour." Manuel Emch, CEO of Louis Erard, and Vianney Halter are currently on a world tour, with Hong Kong set to be one of their upcoming stops.
This brand-new edition named "World Tour," which based on the Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Vianney Halter II. It retains the classic design with blued steel hour and minute hands, paired with a new silver monochrome dial, it appears even sharper.
This timepiece once again showcases Louis Erard’s renowned regulator while simultaneously embodying the steampunk style Vianney Halter’s masterpiece, "Antiqua." It is a masterpiece that perfectly combines the craftsmanship and originality of both brands.
The watch features a polished and matte brushed stainless steel case with a diameter of 43mm, paired with elegantblued steel hour and minute hands. The bezel is adorned with 12 rosegold-colored rivets serving as hour markers. The crown, which located at the 2 o'clock position, is also set with 24 rose gold-colored rivets. The case back is engraved with the famous quote from Star Trek"Live Long and Prosper”.This further emphasizing Vianney Halter as a dedicated Star Trek fan.
In addition to releasing 178 regular editions, the Louis Erard x Vianney Halter II World Tour also launched limited special editions in different regions around the world. Each country or region features a different color for the small seconds hand. The Hong Kong edition uses a purple small seconds hand, symbolizing "auspicious purple energy coming from the east.”（紫氣東來）. 紫氣東來 is an idiom originating from the Han Dynasty's "Biographies of Immortals” （列仙傳） According to legend, when Laozi （老子） was about to pass through Hangu Pass （函谷關）, the gatekeeper Yin Xi （尹喜）climbed a tower and saw purple clouds coming from the east. He knew that a sage was passing through the pass, and the auspicious aura was arriving from the east. Later, this idiom came to symbolize an auspicious omen or the arrival of good fortune.
Besides the auspicious purple small seconds hand, on the case back of the Hong Kong edition also features the quote "Live Long and Prosper," but translated into Chinese as "生生不息 繁榮昌盛", engraved in an ancient writing script — seal script （篆書）, This carries a similarly auspicious meaning of "紫氣東來".
