A New Material, the Same Level of Excellence
The Honoris Strato is HAUTE-RIVE's first foray into stainless steel within the Honoris collection. Two distinct expressions—Verde and Blu—each distilled from Lake Neuchâtel that has defined this Maison since 1888.
Both the Strato Verde and Strato Blu share a case wrought from stainless steel 1.4441, characterized by being corrosion-resistant, pure, stable over decades— which is steel treated with the same reverence HAUTE-RIVE reserves for its precious metals. The models are fitted with a glassbox sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating arcs over each dial like a lens on the world beneath. Add a polished and brushed surface inspired by Lake Neuchâtel: the planes catch light like still water, while the brushed recesses absorb it like the lakebed itself.
Honoris Strato Verde: The Drama Before the Storm
Strato Verde wears a grained texture in that near impossible pre-storm green on the Haute-Rive shore.The grain catches light unevenly, creating shadows that seem to move across the surface like wind across water. The deep green calf leather strap echoes the lake's most intense moods. Its supple texture and understated finish enhance the dial's depth while offering a balanced, refined presence on the wrist.
Honoris Strato Blu: The Sky, Reflected
Strato Blu answers with a denser, more contemplative presence. Its brushed texture evokes the sky's reflection on the lake at dusk. Paired with a deep blue fabric strap selected for its lively, contemporary texture, the Blu reacts to light with nuance, reinforcing the watch's fluid, organic character. There is something almost maritime about it—a nod to the lake's identity as a living body of water.
41 Days of Autonomy
Both watches are powered by the HR01 calibre, developed entirely in-house and protected by multiple patents. It delivers 1,000 hours of autonomy—41 days on a single wind. This remarkable level of autonomy is achieved through a specific barrel construction and torque management philosophy that favours natural energy stability. The amplitude remains incredibly consistent across the entire power reserve.
Paired with a power reserve indicator, the movement is laid bare in an open architecture, different in each timeframe:
6 o'clock: a mysterious flying tourbillon turns without visible support
12 o'clock: the signature "wheel of time" rotates in its own measured rhythm
2 o'clock: a function selector allows navigatation between modes
Signature detail: The Hands, Reeds of Neuchâtel
Von Gunten's "reed-style" hands—shared across both models—are perhaps the most personal detail. Inspired by the reeds that line the lake's edge, they feature a two-faceted construction: one face polished to a mirror sheen, the other longitudinally satin-finished. Time is read not by numbers alone, but by the subtle play of light across these surfaces.
