Amida - Digitrend NASA edition

Now officially released, the Digitrend NASA edition is a highly anticipated arrival to 2026. Limited to just 100 pieces worldwide, this timepiece represents a structural re-engineering of AMIDA's iconic 1976 design, created in collaboration with NASA and built for collectors who value engineering heritage.

The NASA Edition pays tribute to the Space Shuttle era through authentic aerospace engineering. The watch features a monocoque DLC-coated steel case with a scratch-resistant white ceramic top shell—the same material used to shield spacecraft during atmospheric re-entry. The result is a 39.6mm case that's both lightweight and exceptionally durable, with a short 39mm lug-to-lug ensuring comfortable wear despite its bold 15.6mm profile.

At its heart beats the Soprod Newton P092 automatic caliber, enhanced with AMIDA's proprietary in-house jumping hour module. The LRD (Light Reflecting Display) uses prism technology to present time through a jumping hour at 12 o'clock and scrolling minutes—a display philosophy rooted in 1976, now refined for modern reliability. With a 44-hour power reserve and 4Hz beat rate, this is a tool watch built for daily mission use.

Mission-Ready Details

The strap deserves special attention: a hybrid construction pairing rubberized leather with genuine Beta cloth, secured via a Velcro fastening system identical to that used in Space Shuttle flight suits. This isn't aesthetic homage—it's functional hardware designed for zero-gravity utility, translated for terrestrial wear.
