A warm welcome to Dr Robert Punkenhofer, CEO of Carl Suchy & Söhne, who is back in Hong Kong to present our two-day event! Showcasing the brand’s fine collection of watches, the first day involved seeing guests and clients in the Lavish Attic, while the second day was a socialising event held in the Austrian Trade Commission.
Dr Punkenhofer brought with him two of Carl Suchy & Söhne’s signature table clocks— the Table Waltz Tourbillon. One with the classic gold-plated movement, and a special customised “Mirror Edition” with a rhodium-plated movement.
The Table Waltz Tourbillon is a witness of where Viennese craftsmanship meets haute horlogerie. Conceived by master watchmaker Therese Wibmer and designed by Rainer Mutsch, this masterpiece is engineered entirely in Austria and limited to just 10 pieces.
A dark satin-finished brass case, a handcrafted black dial, and a mesmerizing tourbillon of over 50 bespoke components. At its heart, a silver bell finished in fine gold chimes the hour with an airy, sonorous ring. Facet-cut glass from legendary Viennese maker J. & L. Lobmeyr surrounds the movement.
Composed from an arsenal of master artisans and exquisite materials of the highest quality, the Table Waltz Tourbillon is an icon, representing the peak of both art and engineering.
Dr Punkenhofer also presents Carl Suchy & Söhne’s elegant yet sporty piece— the Belvedere.
Named after the Belvedere Palace in Vienna, Austria, the Belvedere features a jumping date display, which shifts every twenty-four hours to transform the aesthetic of its elegant, timeless white dial–a technical signature.
The stunning Belvedere comes in Bordeaux, Champagne, Midnight, Titanium, and more stunning colourways.
Waltzing Seconds
Needless to say, no Carl Suchy & Söhne event is complete without displaying their signature waltzing disc watches.
Specifically, the small seconds indicator resembles a waltzing disc, its striped pattern drifting gently out of sync and aligning with the dial only once per minute. This circular waltz pays tribute to the Viennese dance rhythm and emphasises the Viennese savoir-vivre: not every second counts.
